I can't believe it has been that long since my last post. Oh well!!! Time flies when we are having fun.

Anyway, rather than attempting to fill you in on all that has been going on, I will give you a bit of a smile for today.

I am living in San Diego and love to walk in the early morning. Thus the picture from my balcony.

Having been inspired last evening by an amazing seminar at LandMark Education on INTEGRITY I got up full of energy and determination to step into a spiritual authentic space. I would go for a walk and be open to any messages and new awarenesses. I went digging in the laundry basket for some comfy walking clothes and went out into the cool crisp delicious morning air. I was listening to MCKS and the Kabalistic Lord's prayer for inspiration. As Master Choa connected with the Forehead Chakra, the entry way to inspiration I saw a flick of someting on the sidewalk. I almost stepped on it. Curious I decided to check it out in case it was litter, so turned around and what I discovered carried a direct message from the Divine.

It was a pair of MY black underpanties that apparently been lodged in the leg of the pants I picked out of the laundry basket. I picked them up in awe at how blessed I am to be so closely connected and receive such clear messages....

                  DO YOUR LAUNDRY.

MIRACLES ARE JUST A BREATH AWAY

Wowsi. Since there are 6.8 billion people in the world and ALL 6.8 billion have unique DNA and there are trillions and trillions of trees and no two are exactly the same, why would I think everyone should understand me.

Tomorrow I will share about my experience in Landmark Education. It is a miracle. Within an hour of the first dose of Adderall, it was as if a veil had lifted. I saw things much clearer. I felt grounded. I was not depressed nor did I feel hopeless.

That is the good news.

The bad news is the euphoria lasted for less than 6 days. The problem with clarity is it allows one to see clearly. To see clearly how I have been living a life in a fog, not really in control and fiscally very irresponsible is extremely painful. I now understand why people thought I was flaky, flighty, whacky, and lived my life by default. Out of touch with reality.
How discouraging to be older than dirt and find out I had to start over.

This got me full of determination to GET MY ACT TOGETHER. So I set out on a mission to amass any info from Google about how to get my act together. Low and behold, Amazon has a book. I ordered it.
We will see.

GETTING MY ACT TOGETHER

Get Your Act Together: A 7-Day Get-Organized Program For The Overworked, Overbooked, and Overwhelmed

It ain't gonna happen. In this lifetime anyway. I bought the book. I read the book. I highlighted the book. I made notes. I memorized one line and realized I had bought and read the first book in 1970. Did all the stuff THEN and it didn't happen, so at 74 1/2 years old, with the right brain cells multiplying and any left brain cells I have are evaporating, I don't have a chance.

Soooo, here is what I have decided. I am going to pretend. I am going to pretend I am left brained. I am going to create a structure. I thought of becoming a nun or joining the military but that's not gonna happen soon. I checked into retirement homes ... A good idea was to become Amish.

So far, in the past two days, I have accomplished more than I usually do in a month. Now let's see how long it lasts. My ideas are simple. Keep tuned.
I am going to copy people with left brains and see what they do and then adapt it to me. That is what a right brained person does ... create.
Who knows, Maybe I WILL GET MY ACT TOGETHER.
Let's hope I win the lottery. I will share.

ONLY IN THE MOVIES

Our celebration for Jake at the Bulls game didn't turn out quite the way I had envisioned.

The fantasy .... There were 16 of us who had red T-shirts with a salutation on them. The concept was to sit together in a lump so when Jake looked up into the stands he would see this mass of cheering red figures.

The reality ... Not everyone was able to come ... We didn't all sit together ... we were in the very very top rows in a humongous stadium , and during the induction the recruits never looked up. Not at all like the movies.

There was however, enough media stimulation to cause seizures in anyone who may be susceptible. Several hundred TV monitors. flashing lights, a Las Vegas act during half time where a girl climbed a pole, which was held and balanced by man and spun around horizontally hooked onto this pole by her hair.

During time outs they had animated races, my favorite being 3 characters from Dunkin Donuts who ran around a simulated track. We each had a booklet with a prize if you won. The cheering for the bagel was more intense than any we heard during the game.

The very good news is, after the induction ceremony, the young men came up to our section to sit together during the game. So we had lots of opportunity to show our support for Jake up close. It was heartwarming to see the parents and families of these young men, there for final hugs, tears and best wishes as they went off to boot camp for 9 weeks.

It was not only cool to have this take place at The United center, and I learned that the Bulls support this division by paying for uniforms and other goodies. Thanks Bulls.

Actually, I don't think I saw too much of the game. Oh Well. It was difficult deciding which monitor to watch since we were so high up I had trouble seeing the floor. It was much more interesting to see the interaction of these recruits and their families. A beautiful young couple stood, velcroed in an embrace together for at least an hour. They will be missed

THANKS AND BE SAFE

ANCHORS AWAY JAKE.....

This is the first time I have ever experienced a close friend or family member leaving for the military. I have pictures of my father in WW1, my brother in WW2 and I know and celebrate many families who are Military, especially my daughter-in-law Jennifer's family. It has been a very interesting journey to be involved with Jake, whom I have known since infancy. He is now 18, 6 foot 2, football star, kind loving brother, son, grandson, who, while not a blood relative, is one of my surrogate nephews.

As the "fuzzy headed liberal" that Mark calls me, I have not been one to embrace the idea of war, and as most others, I do not like seeing our young men and women going to war. On the other hand, I DO honor and respect their choices, appreciate their sacrifices and commitment to keep us safe. Whenever possible I will walk up to a young person in uniform and thank him/her personally. If I am flying and have a first class seat I will sometimes offer it to a young person in uniform. It may seem self-serving but I hope it lets that person know we care.

There were 17 of us, ages 7-74, at the Wadsworth farm in Crown Point, Indiana for Jake's send-off to the Navy luncheon. We all had bright red T-shirts, which we had made, with a "cute" transfer ironed on. It took many hours for this project since I had to learn how to do it as I did it and Mary kept going to the store to get more stuff as well as iron them all. The good news is we will wear them again on Tuesday night at the Bull's game when Jake is inducted. Dorky as the shirts are, it was fun. Dorky as it is he will be able to look up into the stands and see this mass of red shirts celebrating him. Wishing him well and all the other young men. Knowing how much we care.

The luncheon was at 11am, and the recruiter was due at 12:30. After eating delicious food, taking pictures and lots of hugs, we waited and waited for the recruiter to come pick him up. That may have been one of the hardest parts both for Jake and his family. Finally, at 2:00 he came. We went out enmass to the car hoping not to embarrass him too much. Well some, we will not name, may have hoped to embarrass him a bit.. This was the real moment ... after months of anticipation, preparation and waiting... he joined 3 other healthy strapping, young men in a Ford Escort. They were leaving their world of teen-age stuff and entering into a major life changing experience. They would have their hair shaved off, stripped of jewelry and... the biggies ... no texting, no facebook, no cell phone, no ipod, no computer, no civilian clothes for 9 weeks. My guess is, at that moment, giving up all the addictive tools of communication teens use today is even more disturbing than the thought of going into active duty.

I am happy he had a 2 hour ride, while crammed into that car, at least he was with 3 other young men on the same journey. He is not alone. He will share what they have in common and have lots of time to learn more about each other.

GOOD LUCK JAKE. WE ALL LOVE YOU AND WILL WELCOME YOU HOME SAFE. Great women going through and fabulous staff. How blessed I am to be able at the age of 74 to participate in such life changing opportunities for women. If for any reason you do not know about Woman Within, check their website sometime. www.womanwithin.org.

Anyway, after the weekend I flew back to San Diego for a few days before I left for DC to be with my grandsons Dryver and Stryde. Thanksgiving was very cool. We went to Army Navy Country Club for dinner. I am still full. Lots of good food and we didn't have to cook or cleanup. The boys were great and it is a pleasure being with my son and daughter-in-law. The main reason I was in that area was to be around when Molly's baby was born. She is in NYC and DC is closer than San Diego. She was due on Thanksgiving day so we thought. So needless to say we were ecstatic when Peter arrived early on Monday November 30th. 7 pounds 11 ounces or something like that.

Tuesday morning I took the train to NYC. I enjoy the train and it was fun. Since I was in such a hurry to see the baby and didn't have much time, I took a taxi to the hospital. There is no way to describe the feelings when I was with my daughter and her new baby. Molly is amazing and I have nothing but admiration for her spirit and how she has lived her life.
NO WORDS CAN DESCIBE THE BABY.
So after my alotted time, I tried to get a taxi back to the train station. Well, you must have heard the jokes about getting a taxi at 5:00 in NY. Sooo I took the subway. There are really no words to describe that experience either. I did learn to ask and most often was given a helpful response. Long story short, got back to Alexandria safe and sound with much more love in my heart and excitement about life.

How can so much time have passed?

Okay. So it has been 16 months since I last posted. YIKES!!! Sometimes when I find old "to-do" lists they have the same things on them as years ago. Unlike the "to-do" lists which still do remain pretty much the same, my life has taken some new roads and I am excited about the path. So much to do and so little time. I guess I will have to live to be older than I wanted.

So in my last post ... Serenity Forest ... while an absolutely fabulous concept, did not work out for me. OH WELL!!! I learned a lot and am very grateful for the experience. My friend Marlene used to say "sometimes we need a brick in the head to pay attention." I hope the center will prosper and continue the healing it offered.

Anyway, to give you the whole story of the past year and a half will take up several blog entries ... so I will begin with where I am right now.

GOOD NEWS ... I am healthy and recovered from rotator cuff repair surgery from last April.

BETTER NEWS... I am excited and hopeful about my future. Transitioning to live in San Diego, CA. My beautiful daughter Abby is living there now.

BEST NEWS ... My new grandson Peter Larrison Bogardus was born on November 30th in NYC. Molly is a fabulous mom and Petey is a fabulous grandson. Doing extremely well. Hope to see him soon.

Other amazing stuff I will share in future blogs include: my training in Pranic Healing, sobriety for over a year, finally taking something for my ADD and what that has been like. Have hope I really can get my life together before I croak. Lots of new workshops. Amazing results with Soul Connections, continued adventures on my travels and other stuff.

I am planning workshops in San Diego, Rochester NY, Chicago area, DC area, St Louis, Houston and anywhere there is interest. More specific info to follow and you can check the website which will be updated soon. www.paulysoulstuff.com

So for today, please know I will be posting at least 4 times a week when possible and hope to hear from you all.

trains, planes, automobiles, subways, greyhound buses, taxi and other modes of transport.

This recounting occurred in November on my way from Chicago to Forest Hill CA to staff a weekend for WW. I flew on two United PLANES, out of O'Hare to Reno on my way to staff the WW weekend in Forest Hill CA. (The picture was taken there).
It was a lovely flight connecting in Denver and I was in the First Class cabin. If I had been drinking it would have been a 2 martini, 3 glasses of wine and a Baileys flight. However, since that is a moot point I remained awake.
Took a TAXI from the Reno airport to a 4 1/2 star hotel I reserved through hot wire. It was fabulous. Sadly I was only able to be in the room with all its marble slabs and the TV in the bathroom for about 5 hours since I had to be at the Greyhound BUS station by 5:15 AM. Got up at 4:30 and took another TAXI to the Greyhound station to discover the doors did not open until 6:00 am. The bus waiting area in Reno is NOT as swank as the hotel and casino areas. In fact it was ugly and isolated. No place to go so I sat on my pink suitcase (decorated by Dryver and Stryde) vigilant to my Beautiful Brighton Computer case, waiting and sort of praying. The online reservations for my BUS ticket to Grass Valley insisted I be at the station one hour before the BUS was supposed to leave . I was alone, cold and annoyed. It was still dark. I thought of meditating and decided that might not be the wisest choice of activities so I listened to my new IPod. When I looked up I saw walking toward me an old, slightly built man with an eyepatch, long scraggly grey beard, wearing bluejeans, a plaid wool jacket and carrying a backpack. He also was wearing a cowboy hat. I wondered if I had any money to give him. Hoping he would walk by I was momentarily apprehensive when he turned into the area with my luggage. He said "Good Morning" in a friendly way and asked about the station being closed. He squatted on his haunches while waiting and I envied his flexibility. I continued to listen to my I Pod and he continued to engage in conversation. I found this man to be polite, intelligent and very articulate. I learned he lived in DUTCH FLAT NV in a 10 X 10 shack and loves the peace and quiet as well as the animals. He shared stories of being there for 23 years and claims he was even written up in National Geographic in 1997 as "Hermit Herb." He told me all about the "miners cats" the mama bear and her triplet cubs he sees and also how some animals come in his home since he has a carpet hanging instead of a door. He showed me a key that unlocks all government park gates all over. I am not too clear on what it is but acknowledge his pride in owning it.

The station finally opened and the clientel was a bit different from the first class companions on United. Different and yet the same. Herb sat directly behind me to fill me in on historical tidbits of the area. He also had his shortwave radio, one of six he owns, and kept me informed on the weather since it was snowing in Donner Pass. Suzannah Hart who was meeting me, had warned me about the "snow demons" in the pass. I was amazed when our feisty female bus driver pulled over and put the chains on the bus by herself. There was a line of about 50 trucks waiting to have chains installed and she did it herself. The ride on the BUS was beautiful. Through the mountains with snow on them. Something I will remember with gratitude.

Tomorrow I will fill you in on the trains and subways and other modes.

CATCHING UP

Lots is happening.

To read about my latest venture go to http://www.serenityforest.blogspot.com/

SERENITY FOREST CENTER

WELCOME TO MY NEW VENTURE.

A dream finally realized and moving into fruition. A colleague and friend, Cherri McGrew has purchased the home for a Healing Center in Cheverly MD. It has 4 levels, 2 which are perfect for workshops and celebrations as well as 2 for living area. I am currently living in the center with Cherri.

We are planning an open house on August 3rd, so right now we are frantically hanging pictures, visiting the Salvation Army for furniture and stuff for the 6 bedroom home. Our missions statement is

WE BRING HEART, SOUL, LOVE AND LAUGHTER INTO THE LIVES OF ALL PEOPLE THROUGH TEACHING, COACHING AND ATTENDING.

Cherri is a good balance for me. She has a corporate business background and does Life Coaching as well as dealing with the left brain stuff. It has been so long I even forgot my password. So let's get going.I have been in what I call a self imposed re-hab. My gypsy life style finally caught up with me at thanksgiving and I went to visit my furniture in FL. It was the first time I have slept in my own bed for more than a week in a very long time. This is a picture I took of the view from my bedroom. Not too shabby. Any way it was a great place for my soul to catch up with the rest of me. It was amazing how many "self help" books are available now a days. I went to the little library in Palm Harbor and found two books on CD that discuss 50 books for personal growth and 50 books for Spiritual growth. Needless to say that was a bit much to absorb AND I did find one thing I am excited about. NLP. Neuro linguistic programming. Totally awesome. Stay tuned for further commercials. In addition to the exploration of self help books, I also had a fabulous reading from a fabulous VEDIC ASTROLOGER. Stay tuned for more info on this too. Also, saw a Pranic Healer, Reiki healer and my dermatologist who removed the fourth cancer from my skin. Things to REALLY improve my mind included taking a friend to the Sponge Museum in Tarpon Springs where we watched a "free" movie made in 1950 about the Greek sponge divers and how the sponges are processed for market. Too bad the Dioramas are falling apart. It is totally sad to see one of the fishermen's head has fallen off. Probably the most important thing I did learn is that I am NOT ready to retire. Keep tuned for more exciting things to come.

LOVE ON BOTH COASTS

Coney Island NY

How more blessed could anyone's life be than mine. The workshop was healing and the commitment of women to make the world a better place is awe inspiring.

A couple of weeks later I was on the West Coast for a Woman Within Weekend and the heart connection of east and west with women was palapable.

What else could one ask for in this lifetime "to follow my bliss"

Once in a while I forget my bliss when I misplace my teeth and have to call on my runners to find them. Sometimes I forget my bliss when I have been travelling for 9 hours with delayed planes. Often I forget my bliss when I lose stuff or forget where I am supposed to be. It is disheartening when I don't follow through on stuff. I am human and in this life to learn humility. That's a bummer.

                                        Botanical Gardens CA

With that said I am one of the richest women in the world who is in debt up to her eyeballs and has no assets. A very handsome policeman was protecting all of us from rioting. I felt very safe.

How sad, that in this land of the free we need police at a baseball game. I am not certain what they were anticipating. Perhaps it was the concept that if someone caught the tying ball it would be worth $1,000,000 and there would be riots of greed and avarice. Or perhaps those so loyal to Hank Aaron would jump on the field and beat up Barry? Or perhaps in this land of the free where boos are allowed, they really aren't socially acceptable.

Anyway, it was fab. It was fun. It was fortunate and when he hit the tying homer a lucky plumber sitting above us caught it.

Next year I hope to be in San Diego when the Cubs play. That will be even more fun.

HOTDOGS FOR THE SOUL

This is a picture of some children in South Africa at the creche where they receive 2 meals a day. Sometimes, their only food. We expect that in South Africa. Not so much in Chicago.

Wednesday evening I had the opportunity to be part of a mission where we fed a couple hundred of hungry people in Chicago IL in the United States.

Many were homeless. Some are schizophrenic. Some are down on their luck. They were all hungry.

My daughter Abby, my 13 yr old niece Mallory and several other dedicated people involved in Pranic Healing of Chicago arrived at Broadway and Wilson to hand out Hotdogs, potato chips, pickles and a dessert along with the support of The Night Ministries of Chicago. What a great organization. They came and set up tables for us and then passed out socks, cookies and coffee. Check out their website. http://www.thenightministries.org/

Abby was the pickle lady who purchased 7 very large jars of dill pickles and put one pickle at a time in a plastic baggie. Mallory was the onion lady. We had chopped onions with love and she was totally appreciated since onions were a treat. I was in charge of pickle relish and Liz squirted mustard and Ketchup on the hotdogs as presented by each of those in line.

Mallory was surprised by the appearance of many of those in the line. Her image of "homeless" was as represented on TV and these people did not necessarily look like those images.

Some had on jewelry, some were very articulate, some were neat and some were not. Bottom line they were simply souls in a human body who were hungry.

We handed out 350 hotdogs in less than an hour and there were still some people in line. However, there were several who had gone through the line a couple of times and I got to know how much relish they wanted and if they wanted onions or not.

A bit of a surprise when a lady gave one of her hotdogs to her dog. No one seemed to be bothered by that. Each person was accepted for exactly who they are.

I looked into their eyes. I smiled at them. I cracked a joke. Some looked back at me. Some looked away. Some said thankyou and some said nothing.

I knew they were grateful.

So am I for the experience. I want to do it again and I will chop lots of onions even if they make my eyes water.

WHO SAYS YOU CAN'T TEACH OLD DOGS NEW TRICKS

Welcome to my personal journal. The intention of this blog is to provide my friends and family some sort of idea of what I am doing and where I am as well as to give voice to some new ideas.

This is a picture of me in South Africa on a mini safari near Cape Town. It was an amazing experience and has brought me to new heights in awareness of life.

While my gypsy lifestyle has been frustrating to many, including myself, it has allowed me to live an incredibly rich and fulfilling life. So amazing are all the wonderful connections I have made world wide.

As I write today, I am in Mundelein, IL with my surrogate family the Mellons.

They deserve a column of their own because of the love in the home.

My hope is to share some of these experiences and connections with you.

My hope is to provide a giggle once in a while.

My hope is to share my passion of new found ideas.

My hope is to be in connection.

My hope is to remember what I did yesterday by reading this.

So for now, be safe, have fun and stay in touch.

Blessings
